Welcome to the Gladstone State High School P&C Association. We are a group of parents (and citizens) committed to working with the Principal and staff to help our children get the best education possible. We are kept informed by the Principal of what is going on in the school (initiatives, challenges and highlights) and we provide feedback and support to the Principal as well.

We are governed by a Constitution and are members of Parents and Citizens’ Queensland (P&Cs Qld).

Overview and Meetings

We meet on the fourth Monday night of every month from February to November (excluding holidays) in the administration block at 7:00 – 8:30pm.  We discuss reports and make decisions on proposals brought to the Committee.  Considerable communication takes place during the month via e-mail in order to expedite meetings.

Sources and Allocation of Income

Our core business comes from the Uniform Shop and the Tuckshop.   We support various incentives within the school such as facilities upgrades including hall refurbishments and air-conditioning and the Virtual baby and Chaplaincy programs, as well as supporting students who represent our school in social, cultural, sporting and academic pursuits.

P & C Executive

Our P&C has an executive including a President, Vice-President (x2), Secretary (x2, Minutes and Correspondence) and Treasurer.  It is empowered to make decisions that arise between meetings, should they arise.  However, that decision is then reported to the next general P&C meeting. In addition to our executive, we have representatives who support the Tuckshop, Uniform Shop, Gladstone Chaplaincy Committee and P&Cs Qld.

Become A Member

We welcome new members as you bring experience and knowledge with you, and because membership constantly fluctuates with students entering and leaving the school.

Apart from the Annual General Meeting, a person may become a member any time during the year.  All you have to do is come, fill in a form; then at the end of the meeting the P&C votes on the application. Successful applicants have full membership and voting rights as from the next P&C meeting.
